Joseph Bias

While in high school, Bias met Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.; he later sang a solo at King’s funeral.  He studied at M.M. Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.

In addition to his solo albums, Bias recorded with gospel singers including Amy Grant, Patti Sandi, Bill and Gloria Gaither, and Johnny Cash.  Later, he hosted a gospel music television show called “I Choose Life.”

In 1995, Bias began working at First United Methodist Church, the 5th largest Methodist church in the country.  As minister of worship, he currently oversees multiple choirs involving more than 500 volunteers.  Bias is also the founder of the Crescendo Music Awards of the Rotary Club of Tulsa, where he is an active member.
