Blues Review: A Tribute to Dorothy “Miss Blues” Ellis

7:00 p.m.

$10.00 suggested donation

The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame honors Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame inductee Dorothy “Miss Blues” Ellis in a blues review and tribute from Miss Blues’ friends and fans alike.

Miss Blues – an icon of blues singing recognized by her signature style of the “Texas Shout” – was born on September 24th, 1935 and died on September 1st, 2018. She was not only musically accomplished, but academically; she earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma. However, it was her passion for singing the blues that we celebrate her for.

If you would like to join in the musical tribute to Miss Blues as a vocalist or musician, please email info@okjazz.org for more information.

To enjoy the jazz, call (918) 928-JAZZ or visit www.JazzHallTickets.com. There is a suggested donation amount of $10 for anyone wishing to enjoy the tribute.

The event is a part of the Jazz Hall’s 2018 Autumn Concert Series.

The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame is a non-profit cultural and educational organization with a mission to inspire creativity and improve the quality of life for all Oklahomans through the preservation, education, and performance of jazz, our uniquely American artform.
