Oct 20, 2017 - Saying Goodbye to Sonny Gray

Meridith Radcliff Gray, known as Sonny, recently passed away. He left his heart with his beloved wife Denna of 38 years. Also left grieving for her father is Jennifer Cohen, Meridith Aubrey Gray, and his grandson Seven Gray, who lost his hero, "Dad-O". Sonny attended Central High School and played for all the reunions. He flew Cessna airplanes, rode motorcycles, captured prize winning photographs, and his music made even the hardest heart cry. Sonny was joyous with his life and included all those he loved in his adventures. In the 50's and 60's he found Jazz. He could mesmerize you with a sad ballad. He was truly a master of his profession. He was proud of his teaching career. He taught at McClain High School, Central High School, and rose to the top of his field teaching what he loved at the University of Tulsa, teaching with a gentle nature while sharing his gifts with his students. Sonny Gray, loving life, never met a stranger, always wanted to ride a train in an open sided baggage car. We salute you. He will be missed! In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Sonny Gray Music Scholarship Fund at the University of Tulsa would be his desire. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. www.moweryfs.com
